Collection, analysis and integration of patient information in order to identify and meet patient-specific needs, including physical/mental limitations, emotional/physiological status regarding testing procedures, and pertinent medical/social history.
Accessing digitally-secure electronic facilities in preparation for scoring and analysis of the sleep study data.
Using available paperwork (including patient questionnaires, histories, referrals and study notes) so as to ensure high-quality patient studies.
Assessing physiologic calibrations so as to ensure that proper signals are recorded and making adjustments to scoring montages if necessary.
Determining that appropriate procedures are followed and appropriate data are collected for the relevant study type, including diagnostic and positive airway pressure titration polysomnography, Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLTs), Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWTs), parasomnia studies, oxygen-titration studies, and prolonged electroencephalography (PEEG) when performed overnight in parallel with full PSG.
Assigning wake and sleep-stages, highlighting EEG arousals, marking abnormal respiratory events, marking abnormal limb movements, and identifying oxygen saturation perturbations in accordance with AASM criteria and MAB directives adopted by Air Liquide Healthcare.
Where appropriate, identifying abnormal ECG rhythms and other polysomnographic phenomena important to the diagnostic evaluation of the patient.
Preparing and proof-reading draft sleep study reports for Air Liquide Healthcare’s Sleep Physicians, including diagnoses of sleep-disorders, description of sleep-study events, preliminary treatment recommendations, patient symptoms, patient demographics and other information required in order to help ensure that each Air Liquide Healthcare polysomnogram report addresses the patient’s primary sleep-complaint, other sleep-history, referring doctor’s concerns, and other factors considered relevant to the patient’s treatment and general health.
Appropriately address and assign studies to Awaiting Clarification that do not meet the requirements for usual processing.
Electronically transferring Sleep Physician reviewed reports for processing via the digital Coreplus server.
Addressing studies being reverted by the reporting physicians to address their concerns prior to resubmission.
Assist internal and external partners with systems testing, template generation and editing, workspace review etc to ensure scoring and reporting systems are up to date and operational.
Participating in regular inter-laboratory and intra-laboratory scoring concordance programs.
Attending scheduled staff meetings, and education and training sessions facilitated by the Clinical Manager, National Manager - Operations & Customer Experience and/or Sleep Physicians.
Contributing to the day-to-day operations of the National Customer Contact Centre, including general administrative duties such as responding to staff queries, addressing urgent result requests, maintaining cleanliness of the workplace (including personal workspace and shared common staff areas such as the kitchen).
Reporting any technical faults/problems with any PSG-associated equipment or systems identified during the process of scoring sleep-studies.
Complying with patient privacy principles.
Where appropriate, responding to study participant’s or referring to doctor's procedural related enquiries by providing appropriate information.
Demonstrating their ability to analyse complex situations and apply policy.
Complying with Air Liquide Healthcare’s Code of Conduct and other E-Learning modules.
Demonstrating appropriate written and verbal communication skills, and social skills.
Assist with additional tasks related to the capture of quality PSG recordings, including (but not limited to); troubleshooting processes, liaising and working with inter departmental projects and queries, assisting staff with feedback, involvement in additional duties at the office.
Actively contributing to the Scoring Department being friendly, professional and rewarding workplaces.

Tertiary qualifications in the field of Science are considered advantageous but not essential.
At least 12 months of experience working as an overnight sleep-study assistant is preferred but not essential.
RPSGT certification or similar.
