Crop Shop Boutique (CSB) is a fast-growing Australian e-commerce brand redefining athleisure since its launch in 2019 by Rachel Dillon. About the Role

The Fashion Designer is responsible for designing and developing innovative, commercially successful products that align with the CSB brand and resonate with CSB’s global customer.

This role combines creativity, trend awareness, technical knowledge, and commercial understanding to develop products that are both fashion-forward and performance-driven. Working closely with Product Development, Production, Merchandising, Marketing, and Creative teams, the Fashion Designer translates brand strategy, customer insights, and market trends into compelling product ranges that support business growth and customer loyalty.

The Fashion Designer plays an important role within the Product team, contributing to the development of seasonal and capsule collections and ensuring consistency, quality, and strong design execution across assigned categories.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop seasonal and capsule collections across assigned categories
Create innovative, brand-aligned products that balance trend relevance, functionality, and commercial viability
Translate market insights, customer feedback, and brand strategy into compelling product concepts
Develop design concepts, mood boards, colour palettes, prints, graphics, silhouettes, and collection stories
Ensure designs align with the CSB brand aesthetic, customer expectations, and commercial objectives
Present design concepts and collections to relevant stakeholders
Achievement of critical path deadlines
Ensure quality and innovation of collections
Monitor global fashion, activewear, lifestyle, and cultural trends to identify relevant opportunities and emerging trends relevant for the CSB customer
Develop a strong understanding of customer preferences, behaviours, and evolving market demands
Create design specifications, technical packs, and product documentation
Review prototypes, samples, and fit sessions to ensure design intent is maintained
Ensure products meet quality, fit, functionality, and performance standards
Design products with an understanding of customer demand, assortment strategy, and business objectives
Collaborate with Merchandising and Planning teams to identify product opportunities
Contribute to category growth strategies and future product ranges
Partner closely with Garment Technicians, Brand, Marketing, Merchandising, and eCommerce teams
Support content and campaign teams by providing product storytelling and design rationale
Collaborate on product launches, campaigns, retail activations, and go-to-market initiatives
Communicate design concepts, updates, and requirements clearly across relevant teams
Contribute positively to team culture and ways of working
Effective communication and collaboration

About You

Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or related discipline preferred
Experience in fashion or activewear design
Understanding of the CSB customer
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and CAD
Strong technical drawing and specification development capability
Good understanding of fabrics, garment construction, fit, grading, and manufacturing processes
Experience developing technical packs and managing sample development
Understanding of product lifecycle management systems preferred
Strong understanding of global fashion, activewear, lifestyle and cultural markets
Experience designing and developing commercially relevant products
Strong creative and conceptual design skills
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of customer behaviour
Clear communication and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Passion for fitness, activewear, fashion, and contemporary culture
Strong creative taste and design instincts
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
