Commercial Housekeeper – Mataranka Homestead

Location: Mataranka, Northern Territory

Mataranka Homestead is a premier tourism and hospitality destination located in the heart of the Northern Territory. We welcome travellers from across Australia and around the world and pride ourselves on providing clean, comfortable and well-maintained accommodation and facilities.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Housekeeper to join our team and help maintain the high standards our guests expect.

About the Role

As a Commercial Housekeeper, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest accommodation, public areas and staff facilities to ensure a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment.

The successful applicant will take pride in their work, have a strong attention to detail and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and service guest rooms, cabins and accommodation units.
Make beds and replace linen and towels.
Clean bathrooms, kitchens and living areas.
Vacuum, mop, sweep and dust accommodation and public areas.
Clean reception, dining and common areas.
Replenish guest amenities and housekeeping supplies.
Report maintenance issues and damaged property.
Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely.
Assist with laundry duties including washing, drying and folding linen.
Maintain housekeeping equipment and storage areas.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
Ensure accommodation is presented to a high standard for guest arrivals.

Skills and Experience

Essential

Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Ability to work efficiently and independently.
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required.

Desirable

Previous housekeeping, cleaning or accommodation experience.
Experience working in hotels, motels, caravan parks or tourism facilities.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
First Aid Certificate.
Experience working in remote or regional locations.
