Position Summary
The Community Engagement and Inclusion Support Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening partnerships between the College, students, families and the wider community.
The position supports whole-school approaches to student wellbeing, inclusion, engagement, pathways and learning by developing resources, supporting digital workflows, enhancing communication, and facilitating meaningful family engagement. The role works collaboratively with leadership, wellbeing, inclusion and teaching teams to improve outcomes for students and families through proactive communication, targeted support and community partnerships.
The position also provides specialist support and advice relating to family engagement, community partnerships, student inclusion initiatives and communication strategies. The role operates with a significant degree of independence and judgment while contributing to whole-school improvement priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Inclusion Support
The Community Engagement and Inclusion Support Coordinator will:
- Promote a whole-school approach to student wellbeing, inclusion, engagement, pathways and learning opportunities for students, staff and families.
- Collaborate with school staff to inform and support wellbeing, inclusion, pathways and learning initiatives.
- Work with teachers and leadership teams to support the adoption and effective use of digital workflows, resources and systems that enhance student wellbeing, learning and pathways.
- Work proactively with wellbeing teams, leadership staff, teachers, parents/carers and external agencies to develop resources and supports for students and families.
- Support communication and engagement strategies that strengthen family partnerships and participation in school life.
- Assist families to access information, supports, programs and opportunities available through the College and external agencies.
- Support the planning and delivery of parent information sessions, community forums, engagement activities and transition programs.
- Contribute to the development and distribution of family information resources, guides and communication materials.
- Work collaboratively with Inclusion, Wellbeing and Student Engagement teams to support identified students and families.
- Facilitate communication between families, school staff and external support services where appropriate.
- Assist in the development of targeted student engagement and inclusion initiatives.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of College events, celebrations and community engagement activities.
- Contribute to the operation of the College Events and Engagement Team.
Digital Systems and Workflow Support
The Community Engagement and Inclusion Support Coordinator will:
- Support leadership teams in the implementation and adoption of digital systems, workflows and resources that improve student wellbeing, engagement, learning and pathways processes.
- Develop supporting resources, guides and communication materials to assist staff, students and families in accessing College systems.
- Assist with the collection, management and reporting of data relevant to community engagement, student wellbeing and pathways initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with staff to identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, family communication and student support processes.
- Support the implementation of innovative technologies and systems that strengthen engagement with students and families.
Multimedia and Community Communications
The Community Engagement and Inclusion Support Coordinator will:
- Manage and publish approved content across College communication channels in accordance with College communication standards and branding requirements.
- Capture and curate photographic and video content that showcases student learning, achievements, programs, pathways initiatives and community events.
- Produce high-quality photography and videography for newsletters, presentations, social media, parent communications and promotional purposes.
- Coordinate photography and videography coverage of College events including assemblies, performances, graduations, student showcases, information sessions and community celebrations.
- Provide audiovisual and livestreaming support for key College events where required.
- Support the College Media Team through the planning, capture and distribution of event coverage and community engagement content.
- Assist staff and students in the safe and effective use of photography, video equipment, livestreaming technologies and presentation systems.
- Maintain photo and video libraries, ensuring content is stored appropriately and managed in accordance with privacy, consent and departmental requirements.
- Develop visual communication materials that celebrate student achievement, promote inclusion and strengthen community engagement.
- Contribute to innovative communication approaches that enhance connections between the College and the broader community.

Dimensions of the Role
This position supports educational services provided to students through the development of effective partnerships between the College, families and the wider community. The role requires specialist knowledge, independent judgment, significant liaison responsibilities and the coordination of support systems across multiple areas of school operation. Responsibilities include supporting family engagement, inclusion initiatives, communication systems, digital workflow adoption and College events, while contributing to improved engagement and learning outcomes for students.

Bundoora Secondary College is a year 7-12 College in a quiet residential area of Bundoora, a northern suburb of Melbourne. We are an innovative, caring school and take great pride in knowing every member of our community (both staff and students) as individuals and as learners.
The school is set on a well-developed, picturesque site adjacent to Gresswell Forest. The spacious grounds include a variety of playing fields and as our school farm continues to develop, a range of animal paddocks, productive gardens and indigenous flora plots. To enhance the student¿s learning experience, traditional co-curricular programs such as sport, drama and music performances, instrumental music, excursions, camps, art exhibitions and displays and student leadership have been incorporated into the mainstream curriculum to ensure that all students can pursue their passions.
Strong emphasis is placed on catering for the individual learning style of each student. Achievements are recognised and celebrated. BSC promotes an environment that encourages students to investigate, understand and actively design and participate in their learning through a variety of teaching and learning strategies.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate in all College activities and to work with teachers in developing positive educational outcomes for their children.
