Full Job Description

400 Gradi Brunswick is looking for experienced Pizza Chefs to join our team at our flagship restaurant.

Opportunities to join the pizza team at our original Brunswick venue do not come up often. We are currently looking for experienced pizza professionals seeking a permanent Full-Time or Part-Time position within an established Italian restaurant and internationally recognised hospitality brand.

We are looking for people who understand the craft behind authentic Italian pizza, from working and stretching dough by hand through to managing a traditional wood-fired oven and delivering consistently high-quality Neapolitan-style pizzas during service.

This is a traditional restaurant pizza position, so previous hands-on experience within an Italian restaurant, pizzeria or similar professional pizza environment is important.

Required

Demonstrated professional pizza-making experience within an Italian restaurant, pizzeria or similar environment
Strong experience stretching and working pizza dough by hand
Experience operating a wood-fired pizza oven
Understanding of Neapolitan-style pizza preparation and cooking
Strong food handling and food safety knowledge
Ability to maintain quality and consistency throughout busy restaurant service
Calm, respectful and professional approach in the kitchen
Strong communication and organisation skills
Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays

Salary: $29.45 per hour + superannuation + applicable penalty rates

Restaurant Industry Award – Level 4, Cook Grade 3 (Tradesperson)

Full-Time and Part-Time permanent employment available

Part-Time: approximately 8–38 hours per week, depending on availability and operational requirements.
Full-Time: 38 hours per week.

Our Brunswick restaurant is the original home and flagship venue of 400 Gradi – a high-volume, established Italian restaurant where pizza remains at the heart of what we do.

For an experienced pizza chef looking for a permanent opportunity within an established restaurant team, positions within this kitchen do not become available often.

What you’ll do

Prepare, stretch, top and cook authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas
Operate and manage the wood-fired pizza oven throughout service
Maintain consistency across dough, cooking, presentation and portioning
Complete preparation and mise en place for pizza service
Work efficiently alongside the wider kitchen team
Maintain excellent food safety, cleanliness and workstation standards
Deliver the quality and consistency our guests expect from 400 Gradi

What you’ll bring

You’ll already be comfortable working on a professional pizza section and understand that great pizza involves much more than simply assembling toppings.

You’ll understand the importance of dough, fermentation, temperature, timing and wood-fired cooking and take genuine pride in producing a consistently high-quality product.
