As Student Liaison Officer, you'll be at the heart of transforming the student experience, guiding enabling pathways students through one of the most important stages of their educational journey. Working with large and diverse cohorts, you'll create meaningful connections, deliver innovative transition programs and provide personalised support that empowers students to succeed at university. Partnering with colleagues across admissions, student services and academic teams, you'll help shape inclusive initiatives that strengthen engagement, belonging, and retention. In this role you will:

Provide tailored advice and support to pathways students as they transition into undergraduate study.

Assist students with admissions, applications, enrolment decisions and university processes.

Design and deliver workshops, presentations and transition support that enhances student readiness and confidence.

Support students in their first year of study through engagement, orientation and early intervention initiatives.

Build strong relationships with academic and professional staff to ensure coordinated student support.

Develop accessible resources and communications that connect students with opportunities and services.
-
Monitor student engagement and transition outcomes, using data to inform targeted interventions and continuous improvement.

Foster an inclusive, welcoming and culturally safe environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
This is a full-time, contingent position, at HEW 6 and will be located on Awabakal and Worimi land at the Callaghan Campus.
You will:

Bring experience supporting student success, engagement, or transition programs in an education or student services environment.

Demonstrate a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers and achieve their educational goals.

Build trusted relationships with students, colleagues and stakeholders through your outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Design and deliver engaging programs, workshops and initiatives that positively influence student outcomes.

Apply cultural awareness and inclusive practices when working with diverse student cohorts and equity groups.

Balance competing priorities while maintaining a high level of organisation, professionalism and attention to detail.

Use data and insights to identify opportunities for improvement and support evidence-based decision making.

The remuneration for this position is Higher Education Worker Level 6 +17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

Demonstrated experience supporting students in transition, engagement, or retention initiatives, particularly within higher education or pathway programs.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with diverse student cohorts and stakeholders across the University.

Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and other equity groups.
