Job Description
Ramsay Health Care is seeking an accomplished and commercially focused Director of Finance to lead financial strategy, performance and governance across our Bayside Network, comprising Peninsula Private Hospital, Beleura Private Hospital and Linacre Private Hospital. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide strategic financial leadership across the network, working closely with hospital executives and key stakeholders to drive financial sustainability, operational performance and informed decision-making. You will play a critical role in translating financial insights into meaningful business outcomes, while supporting the network’s continued growth and delivery of high-quality patient care. Supported by an on-site Finance Assistant and Ramsay’s Finance Service Centre, you will lead a high-performing finance function with a strong focus on governance, commercial discipline, continuous improvement and creating value for the network. What You’ll Do
As Director of Finance, you will play a key role in driving financial performance and operational excellence across the Bayside Network. Working closely with hospital leadership and corporate finance teams, you will provide strategic commercial insight, strengthen financial governance and support informed decision-making that drives sustainable growth and exceptional patient care.
Key responsibilities include:

Analyse financial performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, growth and commercial outcomes.

Lead the development and delivery of annual budgets, forecasts and business plans.

Provide leadership across key non-clinical functions, including Finance and Health Information Services.

Oversee capital expenditure planning and ensure sound financial management of investment decisions.

Partner with corporate finance teams to deliver accurate reporting, compliance and strong financial governance.

Work closely with clinical leaders to build financial capability and support teams to understand, monitor and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).

Provide strategic financial advice to hospital executives, supporting operational priorities, continuous improvement and sustainable performance.
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong commercial acumen, advanced financial management capability, and the ability to lead and influence across a complex healthcare environment. You will be a trusted finance partner, able to translate financial insights into meaningful business outcomes while building strong relationships with both on-site teams and broader support functions.
You will bring:

Professional qualifications in accounting or finance, with CPA or CA qualifications highly regarded.

Proven experience analysing financial and operational data to identify opportunities, improve performance, and support strategic decision-making.

Strong commercial capability and experience partnering with operational leaders to drive business outcomes.

Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.

Advanced experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and large-scale accounting systems.

Demonstrated ability to influence and support non-financial stakeholders through strong relationship management and collaboration.

Strong proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and financial reporting tools.

Peninsula Private Hospital is a leading 350-bed acute care facility in in Melbourne’s south-east. Beleura Private Hospital is in Mornington. with 217 licensed beds and six operating theatres. The hospital provides a diverse range of medical, surgical and specialist services, making it an important healthcare provider for the local community. In addition, Beleura is one of Victoria’s leading providers of inpatient sub-acute services with both Mental Health and Rehabilitation programs a significant part of the hospital’s offering, supported by comprehensive day and outpatient programs. The breadth of services creates a complex and diverse hospital environment, with a strong focus on clinical excellence, patient experience, innovation and continuous improvement.
