Full Job Description

We’re looking for experienced and motivated Assistant Manager's to join our teams across our South East Melbourne venues.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality leader who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in fast-paced venues, and is passionate about delivering great customer experiences while supporting and developing a high-performing team.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the venue, supporting team leadership, compliance, gaming operations, customer service and overall venue performance.

About PLG

Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) is the hospitality arm of the Melbourne Racing Club, managing a growing network of 17 pubs, clubs and hospitality venues across Victoria. Our venues include bistros, sports bars, function spaces and gaming areas, each focused on delivering great hospitality experiences within their local communities.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting the day-to-day operations of the venue
Assisting in driving venue performance and achieving financial targets
Leading, coaching and supporting team members across the venue
Managing stock control and ordering processes
Supporting rostering, recruitment, onboarding and training
Ensuring high standards of customer service and venue presentation
Assisting with promotions, events and gaming operations
Maintaining strong compliance across gaming, liquor, TAB and venue operations
Supporting a positive and engaging team culture

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in a hospitality leadership or management role
Strong understanding of venue operations and customer service
A positive, hands-on and team-focused leadership style
Ability to work well in fast-paced environments
Strong communication and organisational skills
Knowledge of gaming and compliance requirements is highly regarded
Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays

Current Victorian RSA
Current Victorian RSG
Current Victorian Gaming Employee Licence
Do Food Safely Certificate
Full Australian working rights
