Band 8 - Salary Range $127,546 to $142,788 per annum + 12% Super + ADO

The Opportunity
Following the successful delivery of the Technology Change Program (TCP) Phase One, Melton City Council is entering an exciting next chapter of transformation. TCP Phase 2 is a key part of Council’s broader Transformation Program focused on modernising and optimising our technology environment, improving operational efficiency and delivering better, more responsive services to our community and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Decommission Lead, the Technical Analyst you will be responsible Support the decommissioning of various Council legacy systems through the provision of specialist technical advice and support to ensure a smooth transition into a new system.
You’ll also be expected to Identify technical risks and assist in the development of strategies to rectify issues while providing support for technical integrations and tackle various challenges.

We're looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering secure data migration and archival solutions that maintain data integrity and support compliance requirements. You thrive in a collaborative team environment, build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and project teams, and enjoy contributing to technology change initiatives that improve business efficiency, strengthen service delivery, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and analysing the root causes of system decommissioning issues and developing effective solutions.
- Identify and assess technical risks associated with system decommissioning, data migration, and archival activities, and contribute to the development and implementation of mitigation strategies that ensure data integrity, security, and legislative compliance.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicating complex technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge to support decision-making and facilitate smooth system transitions.
- Develop and maintain accurate records and documentation to support data archival activities, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, organisational, and information management requirements.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification, in IT, or equivalent in Computer Science, IT or a related field or significant similar experience.
- Experience planning and delivering system decommissioning, data migration, or data archival activities while maintaining data integrity and compliance.
- Experience working within structured project delivery and change management environments.
- Experience with TechnologyOne OneCouncil or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) or local government business systems (desirable).
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
