Velocity Support Services is a growing health, disability and community services provider delivering supports across South East Queensland.
Our services include NDIS supports, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Nursing Services, DVA Services, WorkCover Queensland services, Carer Gateway, community-based services and workforce solutions. We are also expanding our service offering into aged and home care.
As our organisation continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Intake, Engagement Coordinator to strengthen our referral networks, manage new enquiries and support sustainable growth across our services.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role combining participant intake, stakeholder engagement and business development.
You will manage referrals from initial enquiry through to service commencement while actively developing relationships with referral partners across the disability, health and community sectors. We are looking for someone who doesn't simply wait for referrals to arrive. You will actively engage with the community, identify new opportunities, promote Velocity's services and develop trusted professional relationships that generate sustainable referral pathways.
Key ResponsibilitiesIntake
- Manage new enquiries and referrals from initial contact through to service commencement.
- Identify and develop new referral pathways.
- Respond promptly and professionally to participants, families and referral partners.
- Conduct initial referral screening and gather required information.
- Coordinate intake meetings, assessments and service commencement.
- Liaise with management, clinical and operational teams regarding service suitability and capacity.
- Support promotional campaigns, expos and networking activities.
- Conduct proactive telephone, email and face-to-face outreach.
- Maintain regular communication with participants, families and referrers throughout the intake process.
- Follow up outstanding referrals and minimise lost opportunities.
- Maintain accurate intake, referral and service commencement records.
About You
We are looking for a confident communicator who understands that successful business development in community services is built on relationships, responsiveness, trust and consistent follow-up.
You will ideally have:
- Experience within NDIS, disability, healthcare, aged care or community services.
- Experience in intake, referrals, stakeholder engagement or business development.
- Good understanding of NDIS referral and service commencement processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop professional relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence approaching new organisations and stakeholders.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent organisation and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong computer and database/CRM skills.
- A professional and solutions-focused approach.
Existing relationships within the NDIS, Support Coordination, allied health, hospital, rehabilitation or community services sectors will be highly regarded.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should hold or be willing to obtain relevant employment screening and compliance requirements applicable to the position, which may include:
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working with Children/Blue Card where required
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Relevant qualification in Community Services, Disability, Health, Business, Marketing or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Pay: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 26.0 – 32.0 per week
