Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Registered Nursing applicants to join our Recovery, Day Surgery & Surgical Admissions team on a permanent or casual basis.

As Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:

Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislation
Deliver evidence-based nursing care
Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
Ensure patient and staff safety
Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient care
Proactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patient
Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies

Essential Criteria:

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant post registration qualifications
Demonstrated experience working within an acute surgical unit– Preferably in a Day Surgery, Admissions, or Recovery setting
Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiative using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team.
Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient centred care;
Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills.
Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night duty
