WOW EDUCATION PTY LTD is an education consultancy operating as B.Smart Education Consultants. We support international and domestic students with course and institution selection, enrolment, student visa applications and ongoing student support, working in partnership with universities, colleges and vocational education providers across Australia. Our Hobart office serves students studying and living in Tasmania, and forms part of a wider network of offices established since 2016.
We are now seeking an experienced Marketing Specialist to join our Hobart team on a full-time, permanent basis to lead our marketing function and support the continued growth of the business.
About the role
Reporting to the Director, the Marketing Specialist will be responsible for identifying market opportunities and developing, coordinating and implementing marketing and promotional plans for our education consulting services. The role covers campaign planning, market research, digital and social media marketing, content production, performance analysis and reporting. This is a hands-on role in a small professional team, suited to someone who is comfortable owning marketing end to end.
Key responsibilities
· Plan, develop and organise advertising and marketing policies and campaigns to support student enrolment and business development objectives.
· Advise the Director and partner education providers on marketing and advertising strategies to reach target markets, build brand awareness and promote the attributes of our services and the courses we represent.
· Coordinate the production of marketing and advertising campaigns, including artwork, copywriting, photography, video content and media placement, within agreed timeframes and budgets.
· Research potential demand and market characteristics for new and existing services, and collect and analyse enquiry, enrolment, competitor and industry data.
· Commission and undertake market research to identify market opportunities in key student source markets and in the Tasmanian and national education market.
· Advise on all elements of the marketing mix, including service offering, fee and pricing positioning, advertising, sales promotion and channel selection.
· Create, schedule and publish marketing content across social media platforms, the company website and messaging channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, WeChat and Xiaohongshu.
· Plan and deliver digital marketing activity including search engine optimisation, search and paid social advertising, email marketing campaigns and landing page content.
· Analyse data from digital marketing campaigns and platforms, and apply analytical and statistical methods to assess campaign performance, cost per enquiry and return on marketing investment, including the likely impact of fee and pricing strategies on profitability.
· Recommend updates to website and digital content to improve search engine metrics, user experience and enquiry conversion rates.
· Monitor the performance of marketing initiatives and provide regular reporting, dashboards and insights to management.
· Support business growth and development through the preparation and execution of annual marketing objectives, policies, programs and budgets.
· Plan and coordinate education expos, information sessions, campus and school visits, seminars and community events, and represent the business at industry and partner events.
· Build and maintain co-marketing relationships with education providers and external suppliers, including designers, agencies and media platforms.
· Ensure all marketing material and published information is accurate, current and consistent with the regulatory requirements applying to the marketing of education services in Australia, including the ESOS framework and the National Code.
Skills and attributes
· Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns from concept through to reporting.
· Strong market research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into clear recommendations.
· Practical working knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, such as Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEO tools and email marketing or CRM platforms.
· Confident content creation and copywriting skills, with the ability to produce and edit social media, website and print material using tools such as Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite.
· Sound commercial judgement and an understanding of how marketing activity supports enquiry generation, conversion and revenue.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage several campaigns and deadlines at once.
· Ability to work independently with limited supervision, while collaborating effectively within a small team.
· Professional approach to working with students, education providers and external suppliers.
· Knowledge of, or genuine interest in, the international education, higher education or vocational training sector is highly regarded.
Qualifications and experience
· A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications or a closely related field. At least five years of relevant work experience may be considered in place of the formal qualification.
· At least one year of relevant full-time work experience (or the part-time equivalent) in a marketing specialist, marketing officer, digital marketing or similar role.
· Experience in the education, professional services or agency sector is desirable but not essential.

· A salary of AUD $80,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation.
