Device Processing Technician – Blancco Grading and Data Erasure

Moorup Technology is seeking a technically capable, highly motivated and detail-oriented person to join our Operations team. This role will primarily involve processing smartphones, tablets and other technology devices using Blancco software for diagnostics, functional testing, grading and secure data erasure.
The successful candidate must be available to work on-site at our Heidelberg West facility for a minimum of 22.5 hours per week. Work is available Monday to Friday during our operational hours of 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, with hours determined by business requirements and employee availability.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operating Blancco software to perform device diagnostics, functional testing, grading and secure data erasure
- Reviewing Blancco processing results and confirming that devices have successfully completed the required testing and erasure processes
- Identifying and recording devices that cannot be erased due to activation locks, MDM enrolment, FRP locks, hardware faults or other processing issues
- Accurately recording device information, including IMEI numbers, serial numbers, model details, storage capacity and processing outcomes
- Applying Moorup’s device grading criteria to assess cosmetic condition, functionality and resale suitability
- Performing quality assurance checks to confirm that physical devices match their digital records
- Reviewing and maintaining accurate device information in spreadsheets, Blancco reports and Moorup’s internal systems
- Capturing and uploading photographs of device damage or grading exceptions
- Sorting and preparing devices for Moorup’s retail and wholesale sales channels
- Segregating devices that are beyond economic repair or require environmentally responsible recycling
- Maintaining secure chain-of-custody and careful handling of customer-owned devices
- Supporting the Operations team with stock management, device movement, reporting and other operational activities
Key Skills and Capabilities
To be considered for this position, you should demonstrate:
- Strong technical aptitude and confidence working with smartphones, tablets, laptops or other electronic devices
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, consistent work
- Ability to follow documented data security, device grading and quality assurance procedures
- Strong data-entry and record-management skills
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and other Microsoft applications
- Good problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify device, software and connectivity issues
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills
- Ability to meet processing targets without compromising quality or data security
- Ability to work professionally and accurately in a fast-paced operational environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable availability to work on-site Monday to Friday
Experience using the Blancco Management Portal, Blancco Mobile Device Eraser or similar device diagnostics and data-erasure platforms is highly regarded but not essential. Training will be provided to suitable candidates.
Experience in mobile device repair, refurbishment, IT asset disposition, warehouse operations, quality assurance or electronics processing would also be advantageous.
