Trade Qualified Bakers / Pastry Chefs

MORE ABOUT THE ROLE

WHAT YOUR DAY WOULD LOOK LIKE:

Working in a supportive team environment, where some of the key activities would include:

Meeting daily production goals for a variety of baked goods.
Ensuring correct mixing, proofing, baking and cooling of dough, quality control and minimisation of waste.
Smooth and efficient running of the plant.
Provide training and guidance to non-trade qualified personnel.
Availability for weekends and some public holidays.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Trade qualifications or equivalent recognised industrial experience, training or prior learning experience and/or skills are required.
Bakers must understand basic yeast doughs such as breads, laminated doughs such as croissants or puff pastry, cookie and pastry doughs, and a broad range of cake batters.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Math or computer skills to recalculate recipes as needed and to produce the correct quantity of finished product.
Understanding of food safety and professional hygiene.
