About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer will provide detailed engineering work to assist Project Leads, Lead engineers and the broader design teams by producing mechanical design deliverables to support the required project objectives. Responsible for detailed engineering design in accordance with relevant standards and design principles.

The successful incumbent can envision themselves attending to duties such as:

Provide detailed engineering work to assist Project Leads, Lead engineers and the broader design teams by producing mechanical design deliverables to support the required project objectives. Responsible for detailed engineering design in accordance with relevant standards and design principles
Prepare technical documentation, such as specifications, scopes of work and Material Take-Offs (MTOs) to support the mechanical design and delivery of projects
Assist Lead engineers and discipline engineers in developing project specific engineering design deliverables
Contribute to the development of technical design reports, and ensure project design deliverables meet customer requirements, minimum design standards and quality standards

About You

Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2–5 years' experience within mining, minerals processing, heavy industry or related sectors
Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and project teams
Understanding of engineering safety systems and relevant legislation
Experience supporting construction and commissioning activities is advantageous
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
