About the role
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and motivated Cancer Nurse to join our dedicated oncology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive, patient-focused environment delivering high-quality systemic anti-cancer therapy and holistic care to patients undergoing treatment.
You will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies and supportive treatments in a day unit setting, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred care.
You will work collaboratively with the patient, consumers and other health care professionals, working to establish and evaluate plans of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments safely and in accordance with protocols
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care
- Monitor patients for treatment side effects and manage complications appropriately
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold clinical governance standards
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
We are looking for a nurse who is:
- Currently Registered as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Demonstrated recent experience working in cancer nursing, understanding of cancer types, treatment modalities and their side effects.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused
- Organised with excellent communication skills
- Committed to continuous professional development
