About You

We are on the search for multiple experienced Emergency Department Nurses to join in a part-time, ongoing basis working out of Dandenong Hospital - Emergency Department. You are a proven Emergency Department Nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to commit to team work and ongoing professional development that align with our programs, values and vision.

About Us

Why Dandenong ED you may be thinking? Where else can you manage a waiting room full of patients, solve a bed crisis, coordinate a trauma call, hit 15,000 steps before your lunch break, and still find time for a coffee and a laugh? Dandenong ED is a busy, high performing department with a fantastic team culture built on support, teamwork, and looking after each other. We celebrate the wins, get through the tough shifts together, and there is always someone willing to help, teach, mentor, or share their emergency stash of snacks when you have forgotten yours. We are responsible for approximately 70,000 emergency presentations annually across both adults and paediatrics. We have 20 short stay cubicles, 32 main cubicles, 4 resuscitation cubicles, decontamination facilities, 2 isolation rooms and a fast track area. We also support mental health patients with dedicated facilities.

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

Patient-centred, high quality care to individuals presenting to the Emergency Department
Be a role model and mentor, fostering collaboration and teamwork among like-minded colleagues
Excited to actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives to uphold and enhance best practice standards within the program

In addition:
Emergency Department experience is essential
You are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Authority (AHRPA)
Hold a valid Working with Children Check
Availability to work across a 24/7 hour roster
