Agronomy Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As Agronomy Specialist you will be involved in all aspects of Canola plant breeding trials throughout southern NSW and Northern Victoria work as part of a highly motivated, small team based in Wagga Wagga.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working with growers to locate appropriate field sites
Pack, sow, maintain & harvest Canola variety evaluation field and nursery experiments
Application of agricultural chemicals
Collection of field data
Maintaining accurate records
Operate and maintain a range of small plot research equipment

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES FOR THIS ROLE:

Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, science, or related field
Current driver’s license and willingness to travel
Agronomy experience
Operation of agricultural machinery & modern GPS systems
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Well-developed time management skills
Motivated to work as part of a small team, as well as independently
Ability to problem solve
