About The Role

Begin your mining career journey with opportunities created specifically for newcomers to the industry. Our 24-month Traineeship Program is your gateway to a career filled with innovation and growth. Working alongside industry leaders, you'll gain hands-on experience while kickstarting your professional journey with Thiess. Through comprehensive training and mentoring, you'll build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to deliver quality results.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on role in an outdoor mining environment. You'll spend most of your day working outside in varying weather conditions, including heat, dust and noise. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, the ability to follow procedures, physical resilience, and a willingness to work as part of a close-knit team.

Are you:

18 years of age or older?

Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks outdoors?

Someone who enjoys hands-on work and being part of a team?

Able to follow safety procedures and work responsibly in a high-risk environment?

The holder of a current Australian driver's licence? (Learner and Provisional 1 licences are not accepted)

Willing and able to obtain a Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (QESC)?

You will be required to complete a drug and alcohol test, medical assessments, national police history checks and other screening processes such as aptitude and work safety tests.
