About the role
As Retail Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of both cafés, leading and supporting our teams while ensuring our customers receive great coffee, fresh food and exceptional service. This is a hands-on management role where you will work closely with other café management staff to ensure both locations operate smoothly, efficiently and consistently.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, train and support the café teams across Duffy and Curtin.
- Work closely with other café management staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across both locations.
- Support and assist other managers when required, particularly during busy periods, staff shortages or operational challenges.
- Manage daily operations, rosters, stock, ordering and cash handling.
- Monitor daily sales and cash flow across both cafés, ensuring sales are accurately recorded and any variances are identified and addressed.
- Review daily sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue and profitability.
- Monitor labour costs, wastage and other day-to-day operating expenses.
- Maintain high standards of coffee quality, customer service and presentation.
- Train and develop staff in coffee knowledge, barista skills, product knowledge and customer service.
- Build strong relationships with customers and the local community.
About you
- In-depth knowledge of coffee beans, including origins, varieties, processing methods, flavour profiles and roast levels.
- Strong barista and coffee preparation knowledge, including espresso extraction, grinder calibration, milk texturing and brewing methods.
- A genuine passion for specialty coffee and a desire to continue learning.
- Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills.
- A hands-on approach and the ability to stay calm and organised in a busy café environment.
- Strong customer-service skills and a genuine interest in building relationships with customers.
- Previous experience in café, hospitality or retail management.
- At least 1 year of professional coffee roasting experience is required
- Diploma level qualification or certificate related to management is required.
Pay: $79,500.00 per year
