Incat Tasmania is a global leader in the design and construction of lightweight aluminium ferries for passenger and vehicle transport worldwide. Position Summary

Incat is home to the world's most advanced electric shipbuilding program, and we are looking for Qualified Welders, Fabricators and Fitters to join our team.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes

Trade Qualification - Cert III Engineering - Fabrication or Mechanical Trade
Experience as a welder, fabricator or pipefitter, preferably having worked with aluminium
Current White Card
Ability to work effectively as part of a team with minimal direct supervision
Ability to meet deadlines and deliver consistent high-quality work in a team environment

In this role you will benefit by

4 or 5-day roster (Monday to Thursday or Monday to Friday)

Key Responsibilities

Welding, fabricating and pipefitting according to blueprint and technical drawings in accordance with Incat and DNV standards
Operate machinery to make precise cuts, shapes, welds, bends and repairs
Prepare components to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminium parts
Manufacture piping systems. Ability to form pipe work with the aid of various tooling and equipment
Manufacture & Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping systems
Test systems for leaks or other issues using testing equipment
Working knowledge of hand and power tools
Commitment to a safe working environment
Full and current Australian working rights
