Permanent Full Time opportunity for an experienced Dental Assistants (or those looking to get into dental) to work alongside a supportive clinical team.
About the Role
As a Dental Assistant at Grampians Health, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, team-based approach to dental care. In this role, you will support both our patients and the dental team, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for all. This qualification provides the knowledge and skills needed to assist a Dentist, Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist during all dental care procedures. Delivery combines work experience and structured training to assist the dental professional competently and safely during oral health care procedures. This qualification is offered as a workplace delivery training to new employees in a general dental practice, as well as existing employees seeking a formal qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients by delivering exceptional customer service
- Prepare patients and treatment rooms for dental procedures
- Provide quality chairside assistance to Dentists during treatments
- Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and uphold infection control standards
- Maintain infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment
- Manage patient care from check-in to the surgery, including recall management
Skills & Experience
Certificate III in Dental Assisting (essential)
Current Victorian Driver’s Licence with a willingness to travel between locations
Certificate IV in Dental Radiology or Oral Health Promotion (desirable)
Previous experience in teaching, mentoring, or training staff (desirable)
Familiarity with Titanium dental software (desirable)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues
Highly organised, reliable, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care and customer service
