Downer is seeking a motivated Spray Seal Foreman to lead our Spray Seal crews and play a key role in the safe and successful delivery of road construction and maintenance projects.
Based out of Dalby, QLD and servicing the broad regional area of South-West Queensland, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day site activities, leading field crews, and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with Supervisors, Project Teams, and operational crews, you'll provide leadership in the field while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, productivity, and team engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise Spray Seal crews on site.
- Coordinate daily work activities and allocate resources effectively.
- Conduct and oversee plant and equipment pre-start inspections.
- Identify hazards, implement controls, and ensure compliance with WHS requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Monitor the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and share operational and safety best practices.

ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Civil Road Construction, Spray Seal, or Profiling operations.
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Additional plant or spray seal-related qualifications highly regarded.
- Ability to lead crews and delegate tasks effectively.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Experience working with plant and equipment in a civil construction environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound understanding of hazard identification and risk management practices.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Experience completing site-based documentation and reporting requirements.
Flexible with travel when required.
