Full Job Description

Position Overview:

The Fabricator is responsible for interpreting technical drawings, cutting, shaping materials and assembling fabricated components to specification. This role requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret blueprints, drawings and technical specifications to determine project requirements
Cut, shape, fit and assemble materials using appropriate hand and power tools
Weld, solder and braze components to produce finished products in accordance with quality standards
Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with specifications
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to materials, fabrication processes or equipment
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised work environment
Comply with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures

Skills and Experience:

Trade-qualified Steel Fabricator / Welder (Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication or equivalent), or a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant fabrication experience
Competent in the use of hand and power tools
Sound knowledge of welding, soldering and brazing techniques
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
Proven problem-solving and fault-finding skills
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Current driver’s licence (Required)
Confined Space, Working at Heights, EWP, Forklift and Fire Sentry tickets –(Desirable)
Ability to hold and obtain a National Police Clearance and Defence Clearance – (Required)
