Blade Technicians to join our Wind Farm teams casual pool for the upcoming blade repair season. This role sits within in our Power Services division which provides operations and maintenance services to over 30 power generation assets across Australia. What you’ll do
- Utilise SPIE’s cutting-edge technology and systems to execute major, minor and complex repairs on wind turbine blades, whether it be through rope access or use of robotics,
- Support our customers extend the life and performance of their assets by supporting the in-house blades SME’s in providing technical expertise and insights,
- Execute maintenance tasks on blades, utilizing SPIE’s developed instructions,
- Replace or upgrade components as needed to ensure optimal performance and longevity,
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times,
- Conduct pre-job safety assessments and equipment checks before commencing any work.
- Work closely with other technicians, maintenance crews, and project managers to coordinate blade maintenance schedules and prioritise tasks,
- Travel across sites and locations to support maintenance across different platforms and locations as required.
What you’ll have
- Previous experience as a Blade Rope Access Technician or similar role in the renewable energy industry.
- Industry specific experience as a rope access technician, composite repairs, etc. IRATA qualification, level 3 is desirable.
- High HSE focus and capability related to wind energy operations
- GWO BST/Blade Repair/Working at Heights certification. Heights rescue desirable.
- Current Driver’s License
- Willingness to travel, often in remote locations.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
