About the Opportunity
Byron Private is seeking a skilled and values-driven Psychologist or Psychotherapist to join our close-knit clinical team in one of Australia’s most beautiful coastal settings.
This is a genuinely rewarding role for a clinician who wants more than a caseload — you’ll be doing meaningful, relationship-centred work with clients navigating addiction, trauma, mental health, and disordered eating, supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team and a program that actually walks its talk on holistic care.
If you’re looking for a role where clinical depth, real collaboration, and beautiful surroundings come together — this is it.
The Role
As a Psychologist or Psychotherapist at Byron Private, you will:
- Carry a manageable individual therapy caseload, with twice-weekly sessions per client;
- Co-facilitate group therapy programs alongside experienced senior clinicians;
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop case formulations, and lead treatment planning through to exit summaries;
- Attend weekly Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings led by our Clinical Director and Clinical Lead;
- Collaborate with a specialist team that includes a Consultant Psychiatrist, Medical Professionals, Primary Therapists, Group Facilitators, and Family Therapist.
This is a varied, dynamic role with genuine scope to develop your clinical skills across complex presentations in a supported, team-based environment.
About Byron Private
Set in the serene hinterland of Byron Bay, Byron Private is a residential treatment centre offering holistic, community-based care for individuals navigating addiction, mental health, trauma, PTSD, and disordered eating.
Our model is built around individualised care — every treatment plan is shaped by the expressed needs, goals, and aspirations of the person in front of us. Alongside evidence-based therapeutic and medical care, our program integrates yoga, meditation, nutrition, and fitness to support whole-person recovery.
We’re a small, passionate team, and we take our culture seriously. You’ll be well-supported, genuinely valued, and lunching on chef-prepared whole food every day.

Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work;
- Current registration with the relevant professional body (AHPRA, PACFA/ACA, AASW);
- Full Australian working rights;
- Valid driver’s licence.
Highly regarded
- Experience working with addiction, trauma, eating disorders, or complex mental health presentations;
- Familiarity with residential or intensive treatment settings;

Why Byron Private?
- Location — Work from one of the most sought-after locations in Australia, in a peaceful hinterland setting that genuinely supports wellbeing;
