Retail Store Manager

Location: Gold Coast Pacific Fair – Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, 2–30 Hooker Boulevard, Broadbeach QLD 4218
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 38 hours per week
Salary: AUD $85,000–$90,000 per annum, plus superannuation

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Store Manager to lead our store operations, drive sales growth and deliver a world-class customer experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving commercial objectives, managing and developing the store team, maintaining brand and visual merchandising standards, and ensuring the efficient operation of the store.

This role requires a reliable, empowering and supportive leader with strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and proven experience managing a premium retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Customer Experience

Manage store sales targets and monitor performance through relevant key performance indicators.
Develop and implement action plans in consultation with the Area Manager to improve sales performance.
Lead and motivate the team to achieve commercial targets while maintaining high customer service standards.
Ensure employees consistently follow the company’s selling processes, including up-selling, cross-selling and promoting available services.
Provide customers with accurate information regarding products, pricing, services and expected timeframes.
Build strong customer relationships through personalised service and regular follow-up.
Monitor customer feedback and implement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction.
Build relationships with the local community and act as a brand ambassador to attract new customers and retain existing clients.
Manage customer database development, segmentation and profiling.
Drive in-store and omnichannel sales by effectively using available systems, tools and technology.

Business and Network Development

Support the Area Manager in developing long-term market growth strategies.
Establish and maintain commercial relationships and partnerships within the local market.
Monitor relevant retail and industry trends.
Identify and recommend sales opportunities and business development initiatives.

Brand and Product Management

Represent and promote the company’s brand values, heritage and vision.
Ensure employees have a strong understanding of the brand, products and services.
Monitor the store’s product assortment and provide feedback to Area Management and the Buying Team regarding customer and market demand.
Oversee the overall presentation of the store.
Maintain high visual merchandising and product display standards in accordance with company guidelines.
Ensure the team remains informed and trained on all product collections and categories.

Team Leadership and Human Resources

Recruit, manage, develop, motivate and empower store employees.
Build a positive and supportive workplace culture based on trust, professionalism and accountability.
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, training and performance development.
Conduct daily and weekly store briefings to communicate objectives, priorities and sales strategies.
Support new employees throughout the onboarding process.
Ensure employees comply with company grooming and uniform standards.
Work closely with the Area Manager and Human Resources team to recruit suitable employees.
Manage employee performance and implement appropriate improvement measures where required.
Prepare staff rosters and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.

Store Operations and Compliance

Supervise and coordinate all store activities to ensure efficient daily operations.
Ensure compliance with the company’s standard operating procedures.
Oversee stock and back-of-house operations, including receiving and transferring stock, stocktaking, stock control, storage, reporting and store administration.
Ensure compliance with company policies, governance requirements, privacy obligations, workplace health and safety requirements and other applicable regulations.
Use relevant retail, customer relationship management and point-of-sale systems.
Ensure employees are appropriately trained in all operational and digital systems.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

Relevant experience managing a retail store or comparable retail operation.
Demonstrated experience leading, developing and motivating a retail team.
Strong knowledge of retail sales, customer service and store operations.
Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage key performance indicators.
Experience in stock management, visual merchandising and operational compliance.
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build strong relationships with customers, employees and business stakeholders.
Experience using point-of-sale, customer relationship management and other retail management systems.
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Experience in premium, luxury or fashion retail will be highly regarded.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
