About the Role:

Signature Oceania is seeking a Managing Director to lead the company’s next stage of growth. Reporting to the Board, the role carries full accountability for the strategic direction, financial performance and overall management of our luxury B2B inbound travel business.

We are looking for a senior travel-sector leader who has previously built or directed a specialist travel agency, destination management company or inbound tour operator. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial and organisational leadership with extensive knowledge of premium travel across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, together with a proven record of developing B2B agency relationships in Spanish-speaking source markets.

Key Responsibilities:

· Set and regularly review the company’s objectives, corporate strategy, operating policies and annual business plans, with a focus on sustainable growth of its luxury B2B portfolio across Oceania and priority source markets.

· Provide overall direction and management across commercial, product, operations, client service, marketing and corporate support functions.

· Authorise the allocation of people, technology and financial resources required to deliver the company’s strategic and operational plans.

· Hold full accountability for profit and loss and monitor commercial, financial and operational performance against agreed objectives, taking corrective action where required.

· Ensure compliance with corporate, employment, consumer, privacy, work health and safety, and other relevant legislation, maintaining effective governance and risk controls.

· Consult with the Board, senior managers and professional advisers, assess reports and recommendations, and make executive decisions on key business matters.

· Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections and corporate performance reports, and present results and recommendations to the Board.

· Represent Signature Oceania in senior-level negotiations and relationships with agency partners, premium suppliers, tourism bodies, government and industry stakeholders in Australia and overseas.

· Select or approve senior and key appointments, establish accountabilities and oversee management performance and development.

· Drive the continuous optimisation of systems, processes and organisational performance.

· Lead the expansion of Signature Oceania’s B2B agency network in Spain, Latin America and other strategic source markets while safeguarding the quality and commercial positioning of its Australia, New Zealand and Pacific product portfolio.

Skills and Experience Required:

· A minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in travel and tourism, including substantial experience as a business owner, director, general manager or equivalent senior executive with organisation-wide responsibility.

· A relevant tertiary qualification in Tourism Management, Business Management or a related discipline.

· Proven experience leading and growing a specialist B2B travel agency, destination management company or inbound tour operator, with responsibility for strategy, profit and loss, budgeting and organisational performance.

· Significant management experience in luxury and tailor-made travel, including product strategy, supplier contracting, pricing and service-quality oversight.

· Deep first-hand and commercial knowledge of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, including destination logistics and premium tourism products and suppliers.

· Demonstrated success developing senior B2B agency relationships and commercial distribution in Spain and other Spanish-speaking source markets.

· Professional fluency in English and Spanish Is essential; fluency in Catalan will be highly regarded.

· Demonstrated ability to oversee travel operations technology, including GDS, itinerary-management, CRM and booking platforms.

· Strong resilience, problem-solving and executive decision-making capability.

· Willingness and ability to travel interstate and internationally for client relationships, supplier negotiations and industry representation.

Pay: $200,000.00 – $210,000.00 per year
