About the Role
We are expanding our business and launching a new Carpet Cleaning & Upholstery Cleaning division, and we are looking for an experienced Carpet Cleaner / Cleaning Technician to join us at the beginning of this exciting growth.
This is initially a casual/part-time position, with the intention of developing the role into a full-time position as the new division grows.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning and rug cleaning who is looking for more than just a job. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow with the division, take on increased responsibility and play an important role in helping establish and develop the new service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Professional carpet cleaning for residential and commercial customers
- Upholstery and fabric cleaning
- Rug cleaning and specialised treatments
- Stain and spot removal
- Odour treatment and general carpet restoration
- Operating professional carpet cleaning and extraction equipment
- Assessing carpet, rugs and upholstery to determine the appropriate cleaning method
- Selecting and safely using appropriate cleaning products and chemicals
- Pre-treatment and post-treatment of carpets and fabrics
- Protecting furniture, flooring and surrounding areas while working
- Maintaining equipment and keeping the work vehicle clean and organised
- Providing professional customer service and advice
- Completing job notes, photos and other required documentation
- Following company procedures, safety requirements and quality standards
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous hands-on experience in professional carpet cleaning
- Experience with upholstery and rug cleaning
- Good knowledge of carpet, fabric and fibre types
- Understanding of different cleaning methods and products
- Experience using professional carpet cleaning/extraction equipment
- Knowledge of stain identification and appropriate treatment techniques
- Strong attention to detail
- Pride in delivering a high-quality finish
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
- Reliable, punctual and well-presented
- A positive attitude and willingness to grow with the business
- Current driver's licence

Experience Required
Previous professional carpet cleaning experience is required.
Experience in the following will be highly regarded:
- Carpet steam cleaning / hot water extraction
- Upholstery cleaning
- Rug cleaning
- Stain removal
- Pet stain and odour treatment
- Carpet fibre identification
- Commercial carpet cleaning
- Residential cleaning
- Working with property managers and real estate clients

You should be confident working with customers, comfortable operating professional equipment and have the knowledge to assess different carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning requirements.

Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 10.0 per week
