Full Job Description

We are seeking a Head of VCE and Year 12 Coordinator to lead the administration and management of VCE, VET (supported by an administrative assistant) and Year 12, including student wellbeing and oversight of Year 12 Homeroom Teachers. The role supports students to achieve personal excellence, ensures consistent expectations for students and staff, and oversees VCE enrolment, assessment and compliance with VCAA requirements.

This is an ongoing, full-time substantive position as a teacher, with a fixed-term appointment of three (3) years for the Head of VCE and Year 12 Coordinator components of the role.

Applicants must hold current VIT registration and undertake approximately 0.50 FTE classroom teaching as part of the role.

Duties and Responsibilities
Program Administration and Management

Manage all aspects of the College’s VCE programs, ensuring compliance with VCAA requirements and deadlines.
Oversee enrolment, assessment, examinations, Special Provision, reporting, quality assurance and accurate VASS records.
Act as the key liaison with VCAA and ensure students, families and staff receive relevant and timely information.
Maintain current knowledge of VCAA requirements and oversee relevant pathways, course and subject-selection processes.

Student Performance and Assessment

Monitor and analyse student performance and progress, using relevant assessment and VCE data to identify and coordinate appropriate interventions.
Coordinate examination, invigilation and testing requirements, including invigilators, assessment breaches and student arrangements.
Support Heads of Department and staff in interpreting VCE data and maintaining consistent assessment and record-keeping practices.
Oversee VET and VCE enrolments and administration, including VCE/VET/TAFE pathways and regulatory compliance.
Provide the Principal and Head of Senior School with an annual analysis of VCE results.

Year 12 Leadership and Wellbeing

Lead the wellbeing, engagement, academic progress and pastoral care of Year 12 students.
Lead and support Year 12 Homeroom Teachers in maintaining expectations for behaviour, attendance, academic progress and student wellbeing.
Promote a positive, respectful and cohesive Year 12 culture that recognises student effort and achievement.
Coordinate student support, referrals, progress meetings and action plans, including arrangements for extended absences.
Liaise with students, families, staff and specialist services regarding student progress and wellbeing and academic progress and maintain appropriate records.
Lead Year 12 pastoral meetings and support transition, pathways and entry/exit arrangements.

Management and Communication

Manage relevant VCE and Year 12 budgets and resources in alignment with College priorities.
Support Senior School initiatives and maintain effective communication across the Year 12 team, families, students and wider College community.
Teaching and College Contribution
Maintain an appropriate teaching load and model exemplary professional practice.
Contribute to Senior School improvement and participate in relevant meetings, events and other reasonable College duties.

Skills and Experience

Relevant tertiary qualification and recognised teaching qualification (including VIT registration)
Proven educational leadership experience and exemplary teaching practice.
Strong understanding of student learning, development and wellbeing, with the ability to use evidence and sound judgement to inform decisions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, families and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop effective teams, build positive culture and manage change.
Highly developed organisational and management skills, including setting priorities, managing competing demands and meeting deadlines.
Commitment to professional learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
