Our specialist services include Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Oral Maxillofacial and Implant Surgery, Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology Surgery, Gynaecology and Cardiology.
Job Description
We are currently seeking an organised, professional, and compassionate Administration Officer to join our busy hospital team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering excellent administrative and patient support services.
About the Role
Based within our hospital administration team, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of patient services and front-of-house administration.
We are looking for a casual staff member, with a view to change to permanent part time for the right candidate.
Ballina Day Surgery opens from 06:30 AM - 7:00 PM and staff are required to complete an open / and or close shift on a set roster basis.

Key Responsibilities

Managing patient admissions, bookings, and appointment scheduling

Providing professional front desk and reception support

Handling incoming phone calls and patient enquiries

Maintaining accurate patient records and data entry
-
Liaising with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals

Processing medical documentation
-
Assisting with payments, filing, and general administrative duties

Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with hospital procedures and privacy requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous administration or reception experience (hospital or medical experience highly regarded)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work effectively in a busy and fast-paced environment
-
High level of professionalism and empathy when dealing with patients
-
Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and patient management systems

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
