In this hands-on role, you’ll play an important part in the care, and ongoing maintenance of the orchards while building valuable skills and experience within the horticulture industry.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Orchard Manager, the Farm Hand plays an important role in maintaining and developing our macadamia orchards. Your responsibilities include:

Carrying out orchard and farm maintenance activities

Operating, maintaining and caring for farm machinery and equipment

Calibration of spraying and fertilising equipment

Keeping precise records on all operations undertaken

Identifying, reporting and actively managing safety hazards

Assisting with irrigation installation, monitoring and maintenance

Planting, pruning and general tree care activities

Applying herbicides and pesticides in accordance with safety and environmental requirements

Supporting seasonal operational activities across the orchard

Mentoring and assisting less experienced team members

Contributing to a positive, productive and safe workplace culture

A current C Class Driver's Licence

Previous experience undertaking practical, hands-on work on a macadamia orchard is essential

Reliability, flexibility and a willingness to work varied hours to meet operational requirements, including occasional Saturday work

Good communication skills and a positive attitude
