About the role:
This position provides technical support for cardiac diagnostic testing for both inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities include performing ECGs, fitting Holter monitors, conducting exercise stress tests, monitoring patients in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory, and assisting with the implantation and follow-up of cardiac devices such as pacemakers and ICDs. The role reports to the Chief Cardiac Technologist and works closely with the cardiology team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Where you’ll be working:
The position is based within the Cardiology Unit at John Hunter Hospital, a busy and dynamic service providing advanced cardiac monitoring and diagnostic testing across the hospital and other sites within the local health district. Cardiac Physiology staff operate on a structured roster and contribute to an after-hours on-call service to support urgent and time-critical cardiac procedures.
The team is made up of highly skilled clinicians across a range of experience levels, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment with strong opportunities for learning and professional growth. This role offers excellent exposure to the full scope of cardiac diagnostics, with opportunities to develop expertise across multiple modalities in a progressive and patient-focused service.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all ages, including within a multidisciplinary team environment. They will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to approach tasks in a systematic and solution-focused manner.

Requirements
Undergraduate degree in science or other similar area which includes human anatomy and physiology.
