Full Job Description

Disability Support Worker – Community Connections

LFE Community Supports is seeking honest, hardworking individuals who are passionate about
being a mentor/role model to adults and children with challenged abilities who can assist them to
work toward their goals as outlined in their NDIS Plans.

Community Connection's aim is to support our participants to pursue their passions and achieve
their goals while increasing daily living skills, building confidence in social interaction and
encourage community connections. This may be within their own home, through one-on-one
support or group activities, weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Morning, afternoon and weekend shifts make it a flexible role to suit your lifestyle.

Essential Criteria:

An interest in working with people with challenged abilities and from different cultural
backgrounds
High communication and listening skills
High computer skills
Available for all shifts: including weekends and evenings
High level of self-motivation and ethics with a common-sense approach
High standard of interpersonal skills, including self-awareness
Comfortable to work independently as well as an active team member
Advocate on behalf of participants when necessary
Assist with Personal Care when necessary
Assist with Medication when necessary
Full employment history, including level and year you completed your education

Licenses and checks needed:

Covid 19 Vaccination – Digital certificate to be provided
Current drivers licence – copy to be provided
Current RMS Driving Record – to be provided with application
Satisfactory National Police Check-(Less than 6 months old) – to be provided with application
Working With Children Check – to be provided with application
Hold a current First Aid Certificate or obtain prior to commencement
NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Certificate is mandatory prior to
commencement (to be provided with your application)
NDIS Worker Clearance Screening – All successful applicants are required to obtain this
clearance prior to commencement of employment with LFE. This is a mandatory clearance for
the disability industry. More information can be found at Services NSW or you can speak to our
HR team on 63801601

Desirable Criteria:

Knowledge of the NDIS
Experience in the field
Certificate III/IV Disabilities or relevant qualification
Willing to share your varying skills, hobbies and interests e.g. cooking, music, photography,
gardening, art/craft etc.

Conditions of employment:

As per Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010
Casual Position, subject to completion of satisfactory 6 month trial, PPT considered
LFE recruits by EEO principles and practices
Covid Vaccinations – 3 vaccinations are required for this industry
