About Us:

Youngster.co is a social enterprise that believes in the power of community and technology. We aim to bridge generational gaps through meaningful programs, where young people are paired with older Australians in relaxed one-on-one tech help sessions.

The Youngster.co program builds genuine friendships along the way while making everyday technology feel less overwhelming. We have programs running Australia-wide, making tangible impact in the lives of both youth and seniors.

About This Role:

This is a 1:1 placement with an NDIS participant in Rockingham, WA. Our client is warm, friendly, and easy to talk to; they're simply after some relaxed, judgement-free help getting more comfortable with their computer.

Great fit for students or anyone wanting a relaxed, low-hours role that still feels meaningful

Schedule:

1-2 hours, weekly or fortnightly
In-person at the client's home in Yarra Junction, VIC

Potential to extend to ongoing sessions if it's a good fit for both parties. Schedule can be relatively flexible, as you will be able to coordinate with the client.

What You'll Do

Sit alongside the client and help with everyday tech questions such as how to navigate their phone, tablet or computer.

Keep the pace chill and unhurried as this is a relaxed, low-pressure session. We encourage you to build a genuine, comfortable rapport over time.

Who We're Looking For

Naturally warm, patient, and easy to talk to
Tech-savvy or genuinely interested in tech i.e. an IT background, current IT/computer science study, or just a knack for technology
Ability to explain tech questions in a simple way
Comfortable working independently in someone's home

Requirements

Aged 18 or over
Located within a reasonable distance of Yarra Junction, VIC
Reliable and punctual for the agreed schedule
Commitment to Youngster.co's mission of intergenerational connection
