About The Role:
The Royal Children’s Hospital Orthopaedic Department is seeking a qualified, energetic Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon. This is a part-time, ongoing position. The successful candidate would be providing operative and non-operative care to patients with common Paediatric Orthopaedics presentations; both emergency and elective essential operations. Elective conditions would include standard paediatric orthopaedic operations including common lower extremity conditions, congenital talipes equinovarus, developmental dysplasia of hip, and other foot and ankle conditions.
Internally, this position will be known and/or referred to as: Orthopaedic Surgeon (General and Trauma).
Classification for this position will be governed by Award 31 - Senior Medical Offficers, Fractional and will range from HN16 (Specialist Year 1) to HN46 (Specialist Year 7) per annum, pro-rata/fractional for part-time, plus Superannuation.
The position will involve a commitment to Royal Children’s Hospital:

Inpatient Operating for the in-hours management of trauma in general paediatric orthopaedic surgery

Outpatients Clinics care for children with general orthopaedic problems, hip dysplasia, and the sequelae of trauma

Continuing care and responsibility for patients

Supervision of trainees in Orthopaedic surgery: Registrars and Fellows

Clinical supervision for advance practice Physiotherapists
-
Participation in the exclusive After-hours on call Consultant orthopaedic roster

Involvement in education and quality assurance activities

Contribution to research and innovation activities within the Department of Orthopaedics
