About the role
The Clinical Nurse Educator will plan, deliver and evaluate clinical education programs to groups and individuals to contribute to the development of our nursing workforce, working collaboratively with nursing staff and managers to identify and prioritise individual and unit learning needs.

Applicants require evidence of advanced clinical nursing skills with demonstrated knowledge and skill using technology appropriate to the clinical area.

As an experienced educator with a sound understanding of learning and assessment principles gained from both experience and education (such as Cert IV in Training and Assessment), the role will provide day to day and one-on-one clinical education along with in-services to meet team and individual learning needs, with a focus on new and inexperienced staff.

A variety of modalities will be used in providing development opportunities to effectively engage with learners within a busy clinical environment across multiple shifts.

Importantly the role will promote a culture of continuous learning and development within our Living Well Together framework, providing clinical leadership, including preceptorship, mentorship and role modelling, to support a collaborative approach to learning and development.

The Clinical Nurse Educator role will monitor and evaluate educational programs through clinical competency assessments within scope of role to monitor nursing education gaps and ensure that clinical learning priorities are appropriately balanced with mandatory education requirements.

The role will also participate in the development and review of procedures and guidelines to improve the provision education advice and expertise.
