Our dedicated Victims Assistance Program assists individuals with their management of the impact of crime. Through the provision of consumer focussed case management services, we promote recovery and minimise secondary victimisation sometimes experienced in the criminal justice systems. We are experts in this space and on the verge of expansion - we currently support 3,000 consumers each year and this will grow as we expand into new regions.

What are the specifics of the role?
As a Victim Support Worker based in Bairnsdale, you will respond to victims of violent crime, provide information and advice, assist them to navigate the justice system, and refer to specialist services as required.
You will also liaise with other victim services including Family Violence and Sexual Assault Services.
Success will be achieved when victims feel empowered, receive a tailored service according to their goals and focused on their individual safety and recovery.
A Driver Licence is essential as you’ll provide both outreach and remote services to your consumers.
All expertise levels will be considered and rewarded accordingly, however experience with family violence is essential!
The salary will range from $92,000.00 to $97,000.00. As Windermere is a not-for-profit organisation, employees are able to claim everyday living expenses up to $15,900 against their annual Pre-Tax Salary. Key Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Welfare or relevant equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within the community sector, preferably in a trauma related field.
- Case management, intake and assessment experience.
- Risk identification and management capability, including confidence with the MARAM framework.
- Attend and work from various co-location sites, including but not limited to Victoria Police Stations.
- Victoria Police Clearance for co-location purposes.
- Capability to engage in community engagement and education.
- Ability to provide tailored support to victims of crime from diverse backgrounds and communities.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Willingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessible.
- Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence
- Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checks - including, Police Check, Pre-Employment Medical and Working with Children's check
- Right to Work in Australia e.g. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or visa holder with full working rights
