Quick overview of the role
The Operator / Storeperson supports both operational and warehouse functions to ensure efficient production, safe material handling, and effective inventory management.
What will you be doing?
Conducting pre-start checks on plant, machinery, and equipment prior to use.
Operating machinery, plant, and equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Producing manufactured goods in line with required specifications.
Picking and packing sales orders and internal stock transfer requests.
Safely loading and unloading vehicles in accordance with Safe Loading Guidelines and Chain of Responsibility legislation.
Checking and receipting incoming goods in an accurate and timely manner.
Processing stock returns and completing required documentation.
Undertaking regular stock takes and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across operational and warehouse areas.
Communicating effectively with colleagues to support a safe, productive, and efficient worksite.
Skills and Experiences:
What are we looking for in the successful candidate?
The ideal candidate will bring a strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key requirements include:
Current High Risk Work Licence – Forklift.
Current Driver’s Licence.
High Risk Work Licence – Dogman (highly regarded).
Experience operating overhead gantry cranes (advantageous).
Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and handle materials.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Ability to work autonomously and follow procedures.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Previous experience in the steel industry (advantageous).
Previous warehousing or distribution experience (advantageous).
