Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading engineering compliance and promoting a safety culture across site, whilst being supported and gaining valuable experience as you work toward obtaining your certificate of proficiency and practicing certificate as a mechanical engineer at a coal mine.

About the Role

Developing, reviewing and approving standards, specifications and procedures
Verifying compliance of new installations and equipment modifications
Conducting inspections, audits and assurance activities
Delivering risk assessments and hazard reviews and implement and verify controls
Driving incident investigations and corrective actions
Maintaining statutory documentation and records
Liaising with regulators and external auditors
Providing engineering technical advice to support operations, maintenance and project teams.

Roster and Location

Monday to Friday professional roster
Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)

About You

An advanced diploma, associate degree or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Experience in open-cut and/or CHPP maintenance, or other mining or heavy industry maintenance
A proven record of delivering positive outcomes and demonstrate a strong systems focus and strategic approach
Well-developed communication skills and the ability to engage with and influence stakeholders across the business
