The Salvation Army (Salvos) Mitchell Shire Salvos is a Christian Church in the heart of Seymour. As a Community Engagement Worker, this is your opportunity to play an instrumental role in adding value to local mission expressions by identifying and responding to community needs, helping to create meaningful and lasting impact within the community.
Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time role offering 15.2 hours a week, based in Seymour, VIC.
Identify and respond to community needs through local programs and initiatives.
Coordinate emergency relief services and connect people with appropriate supports.
Build strong partnerships with local agencies, services, and community stakeholders.
Foster community engagement and participation in programs and activities such as the Community Garden and Community Lunch.
Recruit, train, and support volunteers across community programs and events.
Collaborate with the team to deliver positive community outcomes and mission impact.
Tertiary or Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent
Experience in the community services sector and The Salvation Army (desirable)
Experience in volunteer management
Experience working with different cultures
A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check is required
A current and Valid Drivers Licence
A current Working With Children Check
