We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Kitchen Hand to join our team and help us maintain the excellence of our culinary offerings.

Job Description:

As a Kitchen Hand / Chef at Katsu Cafe, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of food preparation, cooking, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. Your role is vital in delivering exceptional Japanese-inspired dishes and service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: Assist in ingredient preparation following recipes and guidelines.
Cooking: Support the kitchen team in cooking dishes according to the menu.
Deep-Frying: Handle deep-frying operations with quality and safety in mind.
Plating: Assist in creating appealing and consistent dish presentations.
Customer Service: Interact with customers, answer questions, and provide recommendations.
Cleaning Up: Maintain cleanliness and follow food safety regulations.
Closing Kitchen: Assist with closing procedures and ensure readiness for the next shift.
Drafting New Items: Collaborate with the chef to create and refine new menu items.
Taking Initiative: Proactively identify areas for improvement and suggest ideas.

Qualifications:

Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
Passion for Japanese cuisine and a willingness to learn.
Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to high standards.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Adaptability and a positive attitude.
Initiative and a desire to contribute to the cafe's growth.
