About the Role
As an IT Applications Developer, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, integrating, and supporting business-critical applications across our healthcare network. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, deliver technical solutions, and ensure our systems remain secure, reliable, and efficient.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, improving business processes, and contributing to meaningful outcomes in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain internal business applications and system integrations.
- Gather and analyse business requirements from clinical and administrative teams.
- Develop and support web-based applications, databases, APIs, and automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to manage system integrations and enhancements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, workflows, and user guides.
- Ensure applications meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation.
- Participate in application upgrades, deployments, and change management activities.
About You
You are a proactive developer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, or related field.
- Experience developing and supporting business applications in a commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Java, or similar object-oriented development frameworks
- SQL Server and database development
- REST APIs and system integrations
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web technologies
- Experience with application testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Desirable:
- Experience within healthcare, allied health, or aged care sectors.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems, electronic medical records (EMR), or practice management software.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRMs
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, Azure, or cloud-based technologies.
- Understanding of healthcare privacy and compliance requirements.
