About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a passion for the next generation and improving the physical, social, emotional and cultural wellbeing of Aboriginal children, families and communities.
As custodians of the next generation in our region, our Child and Family Health nurses play a key role in the core goal of our Health District – healthier rural people and thriving communities.
Building Strong Foundations (BSF) provide a free, culturally safe and appropriate early childhood health service for Aboriginal children from birth to school entry age and their families. The service is provided by teams of Aboriginal health workers and child and family health nurses and at times supported by other allied health therapists including social workers.
The BSF service works with families, parents, carers, and the local community, to support the health, growth and development of Aboriginal children, so they are able to fully engage in life and learning.
You will need to have relevant post graduate qualifications, three years full time equivalent clinical experience in child and family health, have sound interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people, the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team and to lead, supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality care as part of the Building Strong Foundations program.
