About the Role

We're seeking a motivated Site Engineer to deliver complex refurbishment works in a live hospital environment and help shape the next chapter of healthcare for the Shoalhaven community.
Working within a live operational hospital environment, this stage of works will involve the refurbishment, repurposing and upgrade of existing facilities. It is a unique opportunity to deliver technically complex project while helping minimise disruption to ongoing hospital operations whilst delivering a project on time and on budget.
Reporting to the Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in coordinating daily site activities, managing subcontractors and supporting the safe and successful delivery of refurbishment works across the hospital precinct.
This role will suit an engineer who thrives in complex environments, likes to think outside the box and overcome complex challenges, enjoys solving construction issues and wants to build their career on a high-profile complex healthcare project.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor day-to-day construction activities on site
Manage subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the program
Assist with project planning, look-ahead scheduling, staging and sequencing of works
Support procurement, RFIs, shop drawing reviews and technical documentation
Monitor project performance against safety, quality, program and cost objectives
Ensure works comply with project specifications, standards and relevant healthcare requirements
Work closely with delivery, design and commercial teams to resolve site and constructability issues
Maintain accurate project records, inspection documentation and quality assurance requirements
Promote a positive safety culture across the project
Build effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders
About You
Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
Experience as a Site Engineer, Graduate Engineer or Project Engineer within the construction industry
Experience across building, healthcare, fit-out, refurbishment or major project environments will be highly regarded
Experience working within live environments is highly regarded
Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving capability
Ability to work effectively within a live operational environment
Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
Ability to work alone and as part of a team
