Job Description:

Position Overview: We are looking for a compassionate and passionate Counsellor/Psychotherapist to become a valued member of our team at First Step Therapies. The preferred candidate will bring a solid background in pediatric and/or family counseling, emphasising holistic support for clients as they navigate diverse mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, providing evidence-based counselling
Develop and implement personalised treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records and progress notes.
Stay current with best practices and research in the field of counseling and psychotherapy.
Provide support and guidance to clients in their journey towards mental and emotional well-being.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
Valid registration as a Counsellor or Psychotherapist (as appropriate).
Experience working with non-verbal children is valued but not necessary.
Demonstrated experience in providing counselling to individuals and groups.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathy and a genuine desire to help clients achieve positive outcomes.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
