Qualifications & Experience:

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years’ experience with comprehensive knowledge of operating a busy Indian restaurant kitchen.
Must be currently residing in Australia.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Plan, cost, and prepare menus in consultation with the Restaurant Manager.
Prepare a variety of dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts.
Stay informed about trends and changes in the hospitality industry.
Adhere to food health and safety guidelines.
Implement systems, conduct stock takes, and place orders with vendors.
Develop waste management strategies and train staff on food health and safety.
Manage purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget and availability.
Ensure the freshness of food and ingredients at all times.
Prepare food according to recipes and continually seek to improve the menu.
Review finished products for quality and presentation before serving to guests.
Motivate, develop, and train staff, selecting the best candidates for each role.
Prepare weekly rosters for the entire kitchen staff.
Guide kitchen staff, set performance standards, and monitor performance.
Encourage and support team members to build trust, respect, and cooperation.
Prepare monthly reports on sales and expenditures of the kitchen department and submit them to the Restaurant Manager.
Ensure all delivery orders meet the highest standards to encourage repeat business.
