Join Bowral & District Hospital as the Nurse Unit Manager of our Perioperative Services and play a pivotal leadership role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care to our local community.

Lead a dedicated multidisciplinary perioperative team committed to exceptional patient-centred care.
Influence service delivery, workforce planning, and quality improvement within a growing regional hospital.
Foster a positive workplace culture that supports staff development, engagement, and clinical excellence.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing leaders, and support services to optimise theatre efficiency and patient outcomes.
Contribute to strategic service development and innovation across perioperative services.

Are You the Right Fit?
We are seeking an experienced and motivated nursing leader who is passionate about perioperative care and supporting high-performing teams.

Demonstrated leadership experience in perioperative or operating theatre environments.
Strong clinical knowledge across perioperative services, including patient safety, quality improvement, and contemporary professional practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
Proven ability to manage workforce planning, rostering, budgets, and operational performance.
Commitment to staff development, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
Experience leading service improvement initiatives and implementing evidence-based practice.
Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
Describe your experience leading and managing a perioperative service or similar clinical environment. Include an example of how you have effectively managed human, physical and financial resources to maintain safe, high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting staff performance and addressing workplace challenges.
Provide an example of a quality improvement, risk management, or patient safety initiative that you have led or significantly contributed to. Outline how you used critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and engagement with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes and ensure a safe and responsive service.
