We are looking for a commercially minded and strategic Head of Ecommerce Trade to lead the development and execution of our Ecommerce trade strategy, driving revenue growth, profitability, customer satisfaction and operational excellence across our digital channels.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of trade, customer experience, data, digital innovation and cross-functional influence. You will lead a team of ecommerce professionals, partner closely with Marketing, Buying, Commercial, Operations and Digital Experience teams, and play a key role in shaping how David Jones continues to grow and evolve its omnichannel offer.

What you’ll achieve

In this role, you will lead the Ecommerce trade go-to-market strategy and be accountable for delivering trade, performance and financial outcomes. You will identify growth opportunities, lead trade planning and reporting, influence business-wide priorities, and ensure the Ecommerce roadmap supports the team’s strategic goals.

You will also manage key relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring trade plans are aligned, commercially sound, and focused on driving sales, profitability and a seamless customer experience.

With data, analytics and AI playing an increasingly important role in how we work, you will use insights to optimise performance, improve productivity, and help identify opportunities to enhance customer journeys, improve key website metrics and support business growth.

What your day could look like

Leading the development and execution of a comprehensive Ecommerce trade strategy to drive revenue growth and profitability.
Representing Ecommerce in business-wide trade planning, reporting, cross-functional forums and post-implementation reviews.
Partnering with Marketing, Merchandise, Operations, Digital Experience and Product teams to align trade activity with broader business objectives.
Managing relationships with key business leaders, suppliers and third-party vendors to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
Using data, analytics and AI tools to identify opportunities, improve productivity, optimise trade performance and guide future strategies.
Championing customer experience initiatives that improve NPS, conversion, product discoverability, sales and profit growth.
Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team with a culture of achievement, empowerment, inclusivity and innovation.

What you’ll bring

You are a strategic and commercially astute leader with experience delivering strong commercial outcomes in a senior role. You bring strong negotiation, stakeholder management and influencing skills, and you are comfortable using data and insights to shape decisions and drive performance.

You will also bring:

Proven experience in a senior commercial, ecommerce, digital trade, marketing or related leadership role.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capability.
Excellent communication, relationship management and influencing skills.
The ability to lead through complexity and partner effectively across multiple business functions.
A passion for customer experience, innovation and continuous improvement.
Strong people leadership experience and a passion for growing and developing high performing teams
