Full Job Description

Margaret River Community Centre is looking for an Early Childhood Educator
(Child Care Worker) to join our exceptional team!

Margaret River Community Centre for Children is a family- and child-centred long day care centre, focusing on inclusivity and interculturalism. Staff provide top level care and a quality learning environment, with lots of community and nature-based interactions. Operating from the Margaret River Community Centre, we are a not-for-profit centre. We are looking for a dedicated Educator to continue to provide high quality care and learning environments for children in our long daycare program. We pride ourselves on a positive work environment.

Candidates need to have relevant qualifications which meet the AQF or that ACECQA has assessed as equivalent to: Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (equivalent to AQF Certificate IV) with at least 1 year's experience.

Main duties for the Early Childhood Educator (Child Care Worker Non-Group Leader):

Responsible, in consultation with the Coordinator, for the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a developmentally appropriate program for individual children or groups (including educational and recreational activities plus social development).
Responsible to the Coordinator for the supervision of students on placement.
Responsible for ensuring a safe environment is maintained for both staff and children.
Responsible for ensuring that records are maintained accurately for each child in their care.
Develop, implement and evaluate daily care routines (including hygiene of children).
Ensure that the centre or service’s policies and procedures are adhered to.
Liaise with families.

The role will be reporting to the Room Leader and the Coordinator.

This is a fulltime (38 hours/week) position.

Annual salary: $73,227 (which includes 17.5% loading on annual leave) plus superannuation, as per Children Services Award MA000120 Level 5 at $36.57 hourly pay rate
(ANZSCO code: 421111 Childcare Worker – skill level 3)
Note MRCC has signed up to is funded by the Australian Government worker retention payment (WRP), thus with WRP the annual salary is $76,379 inclusive of leave loading or $38.14 per hour
